Our former housemate (and current house guest) says we look like squatters in this pic. I'm sure that people driving past were wondering why there were crazy people playing Scrabble outside in the snow.

I kid you not. I was able to spell "oxidator" on my first turn.
Score one for hitting bingo and finding humor in the situation!

Seriously, though, we were woken by our alarm saying "Warning! Carbon monoxide!" Talk about a scary way to begin your day. We had to evacuate and weren't allowed back in for several hours. In the end, everyone was safe- including the feathered and furry children. Hard to complain much when you get to live to see another day.

Now where are the people looking to buy stories for their after-school specials when you need 'em?
